Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Fishly ("the app", "we", "us"), an AI-powered aquarium fish identification application operated by Codexia. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Fishly Does

Fishly helps you identify aquarium fish and learn how to care for them. You take a photo of a fish and the app estimates the species, shows its name and origin with a confidence level, and provides general care notes. You can save fish to your tank and keep a care log of water changes, feedings, and other actions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fishly. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. AI Estimates Are Not Exact

Fishly's fish identification is powered by artificial intelligence and provides estimates only.

  • Species identifications and care notes are approximations, not verified determinations.
  • Accuracy varies with photo quality, angle, and how distinctive the fish is — some species are nearly indistinguishable from a photograph.
  • Fishly shows a confidence level with each result, and you should treat the identification as a helpful guide rather than a certain answer. We make no guarantee as to the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated results.

4. Care Information Disclaimer

The care notes Fishly provides are general guidance for aquarium hobbyists, not veterinary advice. Fishly is an identification and reference tool.

  • Fishly does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition in a fish, and is not a substitute for a qualified aquatic veterinarian.
  • Care requirements can vary with a fish's age, source, and your specific setup. Use the notes as a starting point and verify against trusted aquarium resources.
  • If a fish appears unwell, check your water parameters first and consult a qualified aquatic veterinarian. Do not rely solely on Fishly for the health of your animals.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Fishly offers an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited identifications and the full care log. A free trial may be offered to new subscribers; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • All payments are processed by the Apple App Store. We do not process or store your payment information.
  • You can manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device.
  • You may restore previous purchases from the app's paywall or Settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its refund policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app;
  • Use the app to submit harmful, illegal, or infringing content;
  • Abuse or attempt to circumvent subscription mechanisms or trial offers;
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and trademarks within Fishly are owned by or licensed to the operator. You may not reproduce or distribute them without prior written consent. You retain ownership of the content you provide (such as your fish photos); you grant us only the limited right to process it to deliver the app's features, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services

Fishly relies on third-party services including Anthropic (AI fish identification), Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, and Hark. Your use of the app is also subject to their respective terms and policies.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

  • The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any reliance on AI-generated identifications or care notes, or any harm to fish or aquarium livestock.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using Fishly at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, illegal activity, or abuse of the service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
